  • geauxBIZ, the one-stop site for launching a new business in the state of Louisiana from the Office of the Lousiana Secretary of State.

DEMOGRAPHICS RESOURCES

  • American FactFinder provides access to data about the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas. The data in American FactFinder comes from several censuses and surveys.

  • CenStats provides census maps, building permit statistics, county business patterns, and other databases from the Census Bureau.

  • The Data Center provides high demand briefs covering demographic shifts across the New Orleans metro, poverty in Southeast Louisiana, our growing Latino population, and the rise of single-person households.


EDUCATION RESOURCES

  • Agenda for Children provides parents and caretakers with a free searchable database of childcare options determined by zip code. For information about childcare, pre-k, or other early childhood development resources, call Agenda for Children at 1-800-486-1712.

  • Connect to Educate: A Guide to Community Resources for Families and Schools (C2E), published by New Orleans Kids Partnership (NOKP), is a directory that contains profiles for education-related and community-based organizations within the Greater New Orleans area. C2E highlights the services and programs each organization provides - such as: mentoring & tutoring, healthy habits, student academic support, arts, youth development, family activities, and volunteer opportunities.

  • The New Orleans Parents' Guide to Public Schools is published annually and is also available in Spanish and Vietnamese. This directory profiles every public school in the Greater New Orleans area. It includes grades served, additional services provided, LEAP statistics, school performance scores, class size to teacher ratios, and more. This guide enables parents to compare schools side-by-side to determine the best one for their children.

  • The Foundation Center provides the Foundation Directory Online which is a thorough database, comprising more than 140,000 grantmakers, that is updated weekly as well as the Foundation Grants to Individuals database, a research tool for finding foundations that provide financial support for individual grantseekers. These resources can only be accessed from within the Main Library.

  • grantspace.org provides easy-to-use, self-service tools and resources to help nonprofits worldwide become more viable.

  • The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance provides a full listing of all Federal programs available to State and local governments.

  • grants.gov provides information for finding and applying for US federal grants.

  • GuideStar is the world's largest source of information on nonprofit organizations.
